Just take a trip to New Zealand and you will know what that means. Over the years farmers have found many applications for the versatile sheepskin. The rudimentary form of the current sheepskin boots emerged over the years, however it was not until 10 years ago that the boots came close to their current form, and only recently have become a recognized fashion item throughout the world. The roots of WLM New Zealand go back to the 1970s when the first advances were made into larger scale production in New Zealand. WLM New Zealand recently entered the international markets to claim a fair share for sheepskin boots from New Zealand. Products WLM New Zealand produces authentic New Zealand made sheepskin boots and is renowned for its edgy design of this contemporary footwear. WLM stands for Wear Like Me. This is the core of the brand, because every woman’s heart starts pounding faster when seeing the collection where edgy design and comfort go hand in hand. WLM New Zealand - Wear Like Me products are of the highest quality available due to the unique combination of craftsmanship, the finest quality sheepskin and leathers and the best soles. Some key quality aspects of our products: • Thick, soft and homogenous fleece on the inside and a smooth outside; • Unique sideways slipping prevention. The heel contains a heat moulded plastic reinforcement that is attached to both the sole and the boot; • Distinctive slender silhouette; • Genuine rubber soles with good traction and great durability on our Avalanche, Nature Traveller and Nature Tasman Series; • A W2-Soft step® WEARLIGHT® sole with a unique combination of light weight, durability and good grip on wet and dry surfaces for the other styles; We continuously develop our products to make them even more comfortable and durable. Sheepskin as the cornerstone WLM New Zealand uses only the finest sheepskin. We use twin-faced sheepskin in all of our products. Twin-faced sheepskin is very exclusive sheepskin with both the inner (the fleece side) and the outer side being perfect. Twin-faced sheepskin has been treated on both the fleece side, and the skin side to match our exact specification. The wool of the sheepskin we use is extremely dense giving it cushioning capability, providing you with comfort (no pressure points) and durability. In addition wool allows air to circulate providing even more comfort. Our wool has the ability to absorb moisture (up to 30% of its own weight) and pass it on the outer side where it evaporates. Sheepskin is an excellent insulator and therefore will keep your feet warm in temperatures as low as -30°F and cool in temperatures as high as 80°F. Our boots are therefore comfortable all year round. To create some of the styles like the flash patent or the Moeraki smooth the sheepskin has been treated to yield the required effect. High quality soles as a requirement Wanaka sole (used on most styles, except for our Avalanche, Nature Traveller and Nature Tasman Series) A W2-Soft step® WEARLIGHT® sole especially developed for WLM New Zealand. WEARLIGHT® is an innovative material made from different kinds of modified EVA mixed with rubbers, engages and latex. It is used to produce expanded articles, combining low-density with remarkable physical and mechanical performances like: • Great durability • Low hardness • Light weight • Good grip on dry and wet surfaces • Excellent resistance to cold • Good insulation WEARLIGHT® soles are ecosustainable, the material is fully non-toxic and recyclable. The sole is available in several colours to ensure a perfect match with the boots. Crosses sole (used on our Avalanche, Nature Traveller and Nature Tasman Series) A rubber side stitched sole especially developed for WLM New Zealand. The side stitched sole is made from 100% rubber and has physical and mechanical performances like: • Great durability • Highly elastic • Very good grip on dry and wet surfaces • High resistance to cutting, chipping and tearing The sole is available in several colours to ensure a perfect match with the boots.
